I'd never heard of these stones before, but I doubt if they are the work of the sinister Illuminati. They've been using stones to build bunkers instead.

Elberton isn't far from Atlanta, and my father's family is from nearby. I remember first reading about them probably 20 years ago in Southern Living Magazine. I've always wanted to see them, and haven't gotten there yet.
I've always been intrigued by who put them there and why. The man who paid for it used a psuedonym, and gave no reasons why he was doing it. Why did he do it? Did he know something we don't? Why Georgia? Was he the first tin-foil hatter? It's always fascinated me.
