Last week in our State Legislature, there was a rally for protecting the rights of immigrants (legal & other wise.) These thoughts came to me, seeing the people there trying to gain some recognition of their plight. My uncle, a former Bush supporter, still grates my nerves on this issue. Like so many conservatives, and other single issue citizens, that can't beyond their simple view of the situation. I told my uncle that the immigration problem was fueled primarily by business interests, who are the primary financial support of the g.o.p. (and, increasingly, too many dems). Corporate Globalization has fucked majorally with the Mexican economy. But businesses benefit the most from low wage earners (& hard workers) entering the country. A few conservatives rail against Bush on this - BUT they put the bastards in there! I feel I have more in common with people coming up here to work than I do with people who are to stupid to see what the g.o.p. stands for. Shear conservative stupidity and narrow mindedness. btw, My uncle ripped his Bush bumpersticker off his car over the Dubai ports deal - his proverbial last straw.

is that the remaining Bush supporters are either very rich and powerful or very stupid with no clue as to what is going on. I've heard of too many life-long Republicans who voted Dem this last time because they were disgusted with what Bush has done.
