Maine caucuses still not certified - 3 days remaining until deadline

the maine caucuses are still not official. they must be certified by Feb. 15. i finally found an article about them here:

interesting to note- two absentee ballots that were returned by the post office that ended up changing an outcome, and someone who left a box of ballots on her table for three days guarded by her dog!

now, maybe someone can explain this to me. kucinich right now has 16% of the vote. a candidate needs 15% to get delegates, but at the bottom of the article it says kucinich won't get any delegates because he only has "14% of the delegates to the state convention" - what does that mean? if he has 16%, he has 16% right?

2. Kucinich got 3 votes, but received 1 delegate.

Had 20 people in our causucs. We had 10 delegates for the State convention. Delegates were assigned proportionally. Where there was a fraction of a delgate, the fractions go to the causcus winner.

It's conceivable that he could 16% of the votes, but end up with slightly less on a % of delegates.

but it still seems stacked against DK. so much for the belief that if a candidate gets 16% of vote they will get national delegates.

You ask the question that has been bugging me for a couple days now. See link to post below. I've seen no explanation. I'm sure that there is one, but it sure seems fishy to me. Kucinich should have 4 or 5 national delegates from ME but he gets none? I sincerely believe this is the issue responsible for the delay. Computer problems be damned. The delay started Monday noon as soon as DK got over 15%. The national delegates had already been apportioned 16/9 to Kerry/Dean. But no one seems to care.

how do they know DK only has 14 %?
