Sherrod Brown of Ohio introduced a bill today to reform a 19-year-old federal law designed to give notice to workers losing their jobs. Mr. Brown took action a day after publication of The Blade’s investigation that found the law is so full of loopholes and flaws that employers repeatedly skirt it with little or no penalty.
