| 2. I'd say most all of them. "Waffle" is often what we call it when candidates have positions |

too nuanced to be pinned down in a bumper sticker. Someone says, "Hey, don't you believe X?" They say, well, sorta, because X applies to me in these situations. Someone else says, "Hey, you believe we should always X?" They say, well, no, X does not apply to me in these other situations.
Pundit: "Aha! Waffling!"

When you take a wonderful word that Henry Clay was quite fond and familiar with, "Compromise" and replace it with it's modern equivalent, "Waffle" it's not surprising that no man, or woman, can run on their senate record without fear of one, and disdain for the other.
It's too bad.

and "nuance" has nothing to do with it, lol.
They waffle because they don't want to be pinned down to anything they can be held accountable for.
I like waffles, hot and fresh out of the iron, slathered in butter and pure maple.
I don't like them running for office.
