The Repukes have gotten their wish. The only electable candidate the Repukes have is about to save their putrid asses in November. He'll wipe the floor with Obama, if BO is the nominee.

I don't think so. The mainstream corporate/neocon GOPers don't like him a bit. All he has is the fundies, which Iowa has a lot of. Don't expect him to take New Hampshire.

Huckabee may drive a wedge between the religious and business wings of the Republican party and hand the election to us. I think he would make a poor President, but he may just be the weakest of their field.
Besides, he hasn't clinched anything yet.

give it a break - time will tell about Huckabee ( i think he will wear thin quickly) but for sure Obama has what it takes to go all the way - and if he can do this in Iowa - watch out Go Obama - good for the country.

14. I agree he's their most viable candidate, aside from McCain.. |
|
I don't agree that it would be a blowout for him in the GE. I'm very concerned that we will be in the exact place we were in 2004: A feel good fundie regular-talking guy vs. an ivy league intellectual rambler. I think Obama would be a better candidate than Kerry, but Huckabee could also be better than Bush.

A lot of Democrats I know, who despise Shrub, actually find Huckabee very likable.

are in now way going to let Huck get the nomination. They want the evangelical vote, but they shore don't want one of em in office.
Ladies and gents, the republican party continues to crumble
BUT the evangelicals scare me - they vote - in large numbers. If we don't get the rethugs out of office we're still going to see Patrick Henry College graduates as interns all over Capitol Hill.

37. No way, Huckabee will split the Republican Party. Obama will pick off moderate Republicans and |
|
Independents. Huckabee has some enormous negatives that will get lots of play in the primaries and the GE. Moderate Republicans and Independents don't give a crap what Obama's middle name is. And the ones who do will never vote for a Democrat anyway.

Huckabee has no money and the powers that be in the GOP will not support him. THey will keep their money and regroup for 2012.
I doubt Huckabee will even win the nomination.
If Huckabee wins the nomination the GOP will abanodon him just like the Democratic big wigs abandoned McGovern in 1972.
Pat Robertson won Iowa. That's where the GOP base is in Iowa. Loony toons fundy fringe. Huckabee hasn't saved their asses. He's just made them look even more ridiculous than they already are.
