| Poll question: If the election had not been stolen from Gore... would we be swearing Lieberman in, January 2009? |

| 1. Holy Joe would be the incumbent Vice President |
|
and the DLC would make sure he gets the nomination.
Lieberman/Clinton in 2009 would be the ticket.

How would people view the Gore Presidency? Would he have governed to the left like he moved left after losing the election? Would Lieberman have moved left too or would he be running on Gore's record instead of running as a conservative Dem? What would the big issues be with no Iraq war? There are just way too many variables to guess, but your post does remind us of how important picking a VP nominee is.

| 3. Depends on whether 9/11 still occurred |

If yes, I believe the Republicans would've found some trumped up charge to impeach Gore on, and we'd already have a President Lieberman.

| 6. I don't know if 9-11 could have been prevented with Louis Freeh at the FBI |
|
but a President Gore would not have dismissed a report saying that OBL was planning to attack the US.

You're projecting 5 consecutive Democratic terms. That's simply not reality. The GOP has imploded while in power, but if they had been always on the outside their reputation would be dramatically different.
Gore would have been hard pressed to hold in '04. No party has managed more than 3 straight terms since FDR. Plus, if 911 had unfolded under Gore he would have been blamed along with Bill Clinton.
If a Democrat wins in '08 there appears to be down the road opportunity for many consecutive terms, assuming demographic shifts continue in places like Virginia and Colorado.

Assuming Gore was as good a president as we all think he would have been.
