Have the people flocked to one candidate like this before?

In a primary have people flocked to one candidate like they have to Kerry? He won Iowa and suddenly he is winning almost literally everywhere. It will be 28 out of 30 after tonight. It was almost as if they ordered to do this after Iowa.

Note: excludes campaigns when a president or VP ran.

8. Couple of thoughts

1. Dean's frontrunner status was 100% a creation of the media, and of his fundraising prowess. No votes had been cast when they all said it was going to be Dean. The media giveth, and the media beats you to deatheth. One might argue that Dean was in large part the author of his own demise, that Trippi was a great organizer but a poor wartime consigliere, and also an ineffective counterpuncher...but were one to say this, one would be dunned by squadrons of pissed-off Dean people. Regardless, the hole left by Dean was filled by Kerry.

2. Kerry's campaign problems in December and January were because he had too many advisors, and those advisors were giving him bad advice. He would veto their advice, and nothing would get done. Also, his internet crew was not connected to his communications crew, leaving a bigass gap. He cleaned house and fixed that, and we see the results.

3. This one is anathema to many: Kerry is actually *gasp* a really strong candidate who doesn't need BFEE-DLC-S&B-Media conspiracy help to get voters to vote for him.

10. Jump On The Bandwagon

It is the "ABB" attitude, and somehow people are convinced Kerry is the best one to beat Bush because right after Iowa the poll came out of a hypothetical match up that showed Kerry ahead.

The DLC loves it because they wanted a quick primary anyway.

Personally, I disagree. Remember all the "Dated Dean, Married Kerry" bit the media was tossing around after Iowa, I think we're going to wake up and discover we're committed to a bore, but it may be too late.

Sigh, wish it were Edwards. He's charming, fun and I think in a far better position to beat Bush, I read RNC.org and the worst they can say about Edwards is that he's a trial lawyer with not much experience. They can call Kerry on every "bad" vote made.

12. Never before in recent Democratic party history.

THAT is really the biggest story that the media does not want to report. This is shaping up to be the most united Democratic party for a Presidential election cycle in my adult lifetime. That means coattails, pickups at every level.

We are watching something historic, and I am excited to be part of it. Here in Montana we are on a quest to win back the governorship, and, well getting the legislature back may be too much to hope for, but we can at least make a good start at it. Good thing Baucus isn't running this year, he'd throw a real monkeywrench in the unity equation.
