Personally, I don't think Nader is a factor this time. I voted for him in 2000, but there's no way I'm voting for him this time. The stakes are too high. Most people realize this. The ones who don't would be likely to vote third party anyway.

I know there was some poll put out that showed Nader getting a higher percentage but I don't put much faith in polls this far out.

I think Nader will get even less this time, maybe 2% or so.

And I might be overlly optimistic, but I think Kerry will beat Bush handily anyway so it won't be as critical like in 2000.

Nader is the best weapon Rove has and he certainly knows it. They'll be using every loophole and quasi-legal method at their disposal to get money to the Nader campaign. Nader is such a tool! I took one of those quizes last night:

Came out with Nader on top. Interestingly, Kerry was next. However, my feeling is that Nader doesn't count, because he's demonstrated that whatever he says, he no longer cares about moving toward the goals he professes and is content to help the country to move in the opposite direction as long as he's a big deal.

As other posters on this thread have said, the Republicans (probably not through the RNC itself) will try every way they can to fund Nader, and if they are successful, this should be exposed. If not "in cahoots," Rove and Nader are working toward exactly the same goal: four more years of Bush in our White House.

the Dean supporters here seemed to think it was a big deal.

A lot of other folks celebrated anything that would bring down
the Doctor, even if it was, essentially, Republican dirty tricks.

So I guess I'll have to see it as hypocrisy if the principle is
suddenly altered for things that bring down Kerry.
