Are there any DUers who voted for Bush in 2000, but, for whatever reason, plan on voting for Kerry this year?
What state do you live in?
I voted for Bush in 2000 because I think he came off as better than Gore during the campaign. I wasn't a party man; I was neutral, but I was a big fan of Paul Wellstone. (I livwe in Minnesota. Can you tell?)
In 2002, I saw Bush going after Democrats like my Senator Wellstone, not caring about how supportive of him they were, but attacking them for that D beside their name. I began seriously questioning Bush.
Then, I saw the outrage over Wellstone's memorial service, which I saw as hypoctritical, since they themselves exploited September 11. and that's when I decided to make it official:
I am a Democrat.
I, like most of you, wondered where my party's leadership was, but I supported them nonetheless; they made more sense to me than the Republicans.
I supported Gephardt, but now I support Kerry, and I will do what I can to make him elected.

And welcome to the Kerry campaign. :)
But, no, I didn't vote for Bush in 2000. I thought Gore was a pathetic candidate, too, though, but a better hope for a decent president than Bush could ever have been.
