| How often did polls appear during the 2000 presidential race? |
|
It seems to me that they were being presented about every few days. I'm just not finding many that directly address who people will vote for. Those that we hear about seem to be mainly favoring Kerry. I have a sneaking feeling that the rightwing corporate whores aren't getting the results they want. As a result they're just dribbling out a few results at a time, or focusing on more obtuse poll questions, such as who do you support more on such and such an issue, rather than overall candidate favorability ratings.

But remember that the 2000 general election didn't get started nearly as early as this one is. We were focused to a much greater extent on the Gore/Bradley and Bush/McCain primary races well into the summer.
All of us who want this idiot thrown out on his butt are very anxious. Novemeber can't come to fast. But, remember, we haven't even had the conventions yet. After that, the polls will be coming hard and fast.

There have been about 5 polls a week, plus the daily tracking poll by Rasumussen. To view the recent polls see: http://www.davidwissing.com/gen2004polls.html

Monday: Gore up. Tuesday: Bush up. Wednesday: Gore up. Thursday: Bush up. Friday: Gore up. Saturday-Sunday: Spin about how Bush would be up on Monday.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
The 2000 election cemented my belief that these media outlet barf out horserace polls that change daily by magic so lazy-ass 'political reporters' have something to write about.

they should work a little and maybe write something informative about the candidates' positions on a variety of subjects vital to the interests of the public. :)
