Lol! I then described to her the many other polls also showing Kerry ahead. My parents primarily watch CNN, so this was a huge shock to her. Keep in mind that she is 82, and terrified of going "online", as I've been urging her to do for years. She despises * but reacts in knee jerk fashion to what the mainstream media spins. She and my dad are definitely NOT swing voters (my father leaves the room or switches channels if AWOL is on the t.v.) so their opinions might be moot. Still, it is sad and unnerving how many folks buy into the CNN and mainstream media, in general, spins.

1. You may be amazed at how people are able to see through

most the garbage. Just because a thing is spun a certain way doesn't mean people buy it. Have faith in your folks. They have a few years on you.

2. They used to be Republicans.

But after the religious right nutcases took over the party they switched to being Dems. Both voted for Clinton, two times, and Gore in 2000. They totally despise *. Considering their limited exposure to media facts and truth I guess that does say a lot about them. Hopefully a whole lot of Americans think the same way!
