By forcing a greater use of 527 Corporations, which aren't shielded by the political speech rights of the major parties, groups such as "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" that engage in smear campaigns have now become vulnerable.

The DNC's letter actually has teeth in it folks- that's why the right wing radio nuts were all over it.

See, Kerry's Band of Brothers- who are not public figures- may have standing to sue them, just as Paula Jones may have had standing to sue Clinton if she had had any kind of a case.

But in this case, it looks like the Band of Brothers have a slam-dunk libel case.
