Kerry Has 20-Point Lead in New Jersey, Star-Ledger Poll Shows

Aug. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry has widened his lead over President George W. Bush in New Jersey to 20 percentage points, a poll conducted for the Newark Star-Ledger newspaper shows.

Fifty-two percent of the 624 registered voters surveyed said they would choose Kerry, a four-term Massachusetts senator, if the election held now, and 32 percent would pick Bush. Three percent said they would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader or a third-party candidate, according to the Star-Ledger.

I've heard it said that Bush couldn't win this election legally. The only way he could or would win by any long shot was by cheating.

Personally, it wouldn't surprise me all that much, but I'm curious at how and in what ways you think he might cheat.

I don't want to be surprised in case it does happen.

at the end of October, Kerry is up in most national polls by at least 12 to 20 percent, I could almost be convinced * wouldn't steal it.

BTW, a former student used to intern for Scott Garrett. He was quite enthusiastic about his job, which called for him to resolve issues for constituents.

state. That's the problem with living in NY or NJ. It's no contest and so no one bothers to show up.
