SNIP..."MacKenna, 33, channeled his experience into a local race at Dean's urging. In the process, he became one of the first of ``Dean's Dozens,'' local candidates from across the nation endorsed by the former Vermont governor's political action committee.

``The main thing for first- time candidates is name recognition, and that's given me a boost,'' says MacKenna, a Democratic activist making his first run for office."

SNIP.." Thanks mainly to other Dean supporters, MacKenna has managed to raise close to $15,000 for his campaign, much of it online in the same way Dean set precedents by raising millions of dollars.

``I've gotten money I didn't have to do anything to get from the Dean network,'' MacKenna says. ``It just jump- started the whole campaign.''END SNIP

Tonight I saw a post at Kos in which someone put the blame on Dean because Jeff Smith lost to Carnahan in Missouri. I was furious. The organization just began at the end of March. It has done a lot for candidates. Jeff came very close to winning.
