| The Strategy of Alan Keyes and the GOP |
|
In the coming months, Uncle Alan, on orders from Massa Karl, is going to make a lot of inflammatory comments. His goal will be to try to bait Obama into responding in kind, and drag him down into the gutter that Alan occupies.
Don't let it rile you folks. The GOP knows that this race is lost. Keyes couldn't even win 30% of the vote in his own state of Maryland. Their only aim in this election is to take away the shine on Obama's star. Keyes' job will be to try and throw as much mud as possible on Obama and hope that some of it sticks.
And since Keyes is the wingnuts' blackface tool, he can get away with hurling personal insults that a white wingnut couldn't (i.e. today's "slavemaster" comments).
In the end though, the more Keyes opens his mouth, the better it will be for Obama. The more he talks, the more the voters will be repulsed by him. On policy matters, he's to the right of Pat Buchanan.
While the GOP will be putting on their centrist facade for the upcoming convention, Alan Keyes will be showcasing the real views of the Republican Party. I only hope that Obama will make a point of bringing this to people's attention.

is "goldwater" the election, i.e., they run a wingnut who has no chance and use the election results to identify their core support. Any dirt they can sling that might stick is a bonus.
