I was not the one who called him douche, I just pointed out that Keyes was a fringe candidate, that he was not even polling 30%, that if Obama does agree to debate him he should include the other candidates.

is people's inability to understand that six debates would have been appropriate if they had started back in June. If they were to try to have six debates starting now, they would be debating every week and a half.
Even *I* don't want to watch the same two people debate every ten days.

point out that televised debates are free publicity. When Obama agreed to debate Ryan, both campaigns were well funded and established.
Keyes is a carpetbagger, coming late to the party, and needs funding. If Obama agrees to debate him 6 times, it's like giving Keyes free campaign commercials (pundit's opinion).
If this is Obama's strategy I don't blame him. The IL GOP has been falling all over itself trying to distract from his campaign since Ryan imploded - why help them.
I don't understand the uproar in any case. What's wrong with 3 debates, isn't that enough? At some point isn't Keyes just going to spew the same crap over and over again?
