Now that Bush has bankrupted the federal Treasury, where's the money going to come to rebuild the infrastructure? Will private donations and insurance make up the slack? Or will Dimson write a blank check on the federal credit card?

Other than increasing the Fed debt, it won't impact the election at all. This is August! By the time we get to Nov. this will be viewed as ancient history.

And my friend predicts that there are enough moderate Republicans in the senate who would vote against that.
