| 1. So totally John Edwards vs. Cheney |
|
With popcorn, five inches from the screen. I cannot wait, because that is going to be a show.
Kerry v. Bush is going to be cool, too, but I think once you get the two of them on the same screen, George is going to look like a fool.

Edwards and Kerry are pretty close in debating, however Cheney isn't apt to stumble incoherant sentances like Bush.

| 3. I voted for Cheney/Edwards just to keep the votes even, but |
|
I will be interested in both. Since there are supposed to be 3 debates between Kerry/Bush I guess the one that will intrigue me the most will still be the Edwards/Cheney one. Cheney is a very sly and sneaky individual, I'm really hoping Edwards will be able to pull it off. He's good, but he also doesn't seem to be nasty enough to fight the evil one.
With shrub, it's going to be another long program of how is never does very well in debates, so if he shows up and doesn't fall off the stage, they'll consider it a win.

| 4. Edwards-Cheney will be more a contrast of style. |
|
I mean, I can't stand to hear him speak but Cheney can put words into sentences.
But I'm looking forward to the contrasts in style, substance, and intelligence that will be apparent in the Kerry-* debates!

I don't think Kerry will make the same mistakes Gore made. Kerry's a better debater and now Bush has a record unlike last time.

| 9. Bush certainly did have a record last time! |
|
Edited on Tue Aug-17-04 11:58 PM by depakote_kid
it was a horrible record in Texas, too- and Gore essentially gave him a pass on it- just as Kerry seems to be giving him a pass now. That's what has people worried. The Kerry camp (some of who, like Chief "strategist Tad Devine were part of Gore's campaign) don't seem to have learned anything from the last two elections.

Just because I want to see Bush be made to look like a fucking fool so badly. However I think Cheney-Edwards will be a much more competitive debate, where this time each man can actually articulate a few sentences. As much as I hate the slimey bastard, Cheney's a pretty smart guy.

| 10. Edwards/puppy eater....because Kerry/idiot is SO predictable |
|
We all know what will happen with the Kerry/idiot debate (what, you expect more than one???). Either it will never happen, or there will be one and the idiot will demand the questions in advance even though he'll choose to give an answer that's completely different from the answer. The moderator will play their corporate part in making sure the idiot looks better.
Even if Kerry does extremely well, we'll hear unethical cropped statements that take Kerry's comments out of context for weeks on network news shows.

Moore would be all out. I could imagine George Bush running away crying like the little wuss he is.

Like during one of his debates with Gore! You know, the one where Gore kept sighing heavily? I LOVED that one!

The 2000 Debates between Bush and Gore was pretty timid, and I can't see Kerry doing any better.
