Does anyone feel overwhelmed by the Bush propaganda machine ?

It's tough. Every direction you turn, except DU, it is all Bush propaganda all the time. Whenever Kerry is mentioned, it is in the same context as the Washington Generals when they played the Harlem Globetrotters. Do they really think they can win? We will just go along with the game...

But, this is our time to fight. If we cannot win this time, you know it will be nearly impossible next time. They will consolidate all their present allies in the media and the Democratic Party will be like the tree falling in the forest. This is the time we must fight. Even if we sometimes feel overwhelmed, it will be much worse 4 years from now. There is no, "we'll get 'em next time."

the only thing preventing a President Edwards in 2008 would be Hillary, who might have a shot at beating Edwards in the primary, although I think she would lose in the general. There's a strong tendency for the public to want a change after two terms of the same party at the top.

It certainly isn't going to get any better with the media a year, two years, ten years from now. If we can't fight them now, it's a joke to think we can fight them later. Surely people can see that it isn't the same press as even during the Clinton era. It's gotten progressively worse because it "can"---no one has stopped it. There is more and more tying up of everything that reaches our eyes and ears in a corporate pre-packaged idea to be implanted deep within the American brain. People don't stand up, fight back and fight for themselves if they are never given a view of what is wrong. They just think it's "them" and crawl away. We saw that happen for 3 1/2 years as Dems. The media took over, our Dems took a dive, and it took someone like a Dean to get us to think "damn, maybe I am not alone". If the media can pull off a propaganda blitz this time and conver all the sins of Bush, it only makes them stronger the next time. But if the whores have to look at results on election day and see they couldn't deliver and the other side is in power, it slows down their progress.

10. In my opinion our true enemy is the media. If they would just report

and give equal time to both parties we can handle Shrub. I tried stopping watching CNN, but then decided it is best to know my enemy. I saw today Wolf Blitzer working overtime to put forth Shrub's point. I wish, just one time, Wes Clark or some other Dem would just say to him: If you really don't want my opinion, why did you ask me? Are you on the Repub payroll? I don't know what else I can do as I have flooded CNN with emails that are not even acknowledged. I wish we had the money to take out an ad in a newspaper to state just how we feel about the media and why they take the Repub blather as gospel. I can only hope the people of this country can see through the blatant display of partisanship.

You have to start looking more at the rallies Kerry has been part of. On the national news scene, Rove and his cronies have a lock for sure but as the Kerry campaign has said already he is drawing 10's of thousands of supporters at his rallies, approx. 50,000 in Portland and the local media is covering him very well.

Remember, these polls the major news media like throwing around, are based on so called "likely voters". That is a term used for people that have voted in past elections and even then it's suspect. This time around the voter turn out of "unlikely voters" is going to be high and overwhelming in favor of Kerry.

not overwhelmed - just pissed off when I hear their talking points - angry that the media is still letting them get away with it. I believe people are starting to get fed up though - their circuits are finally becoming overloaded. I believe this because of the conversations I have on a daily basis. Things are not as they appear and the truth will prevail.

That said - I live in Texas, so my vote will not count. This state will go to chimpy no matter how hard we fight here. Thinking about THAT is overwhelming sometimes.

13. Don't be discouraged

The right wing has been working very hard for the last several decades - taking control of the flag, values, morality ,etc. Most people have been going along, living their lives and figuring that it can't get too bad. Well, now we are taking this stuff seriously again. It will take a lot of work, and not just every 4 years. BUT we can, and will, have an effect on the way this country (and the world) is run. The polls that show Kerry even or ahead of Bush indicate to me that "the people" are seeing through the media aided spin machine. Still a long way to go till Nov 2 (76 days, 9+ hours) - and a lot to do after that no matter who wins.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance, and too many of us fell asleep for a while, that's all. Time to wake up and get back to work.

I also feel like I am on the smart side of this...where all their attempts to knock Kerry down a few pegs..they think these moves are going to work and so far nothing has happened to hurt Kerry--in fact it hurt BUSH..its not over but they are up against a tough crowd this year...its not the same as it was in 2000 we were duped..and it won't happen again...so all this crap, to me...looks like a lot of desperation..its nice to see them squirm

Can he win? Is this true? Is that true? Why'd he say this? Why'd he say that? Why's he ignoring me, me, me? The propaganda is everywhere and when I come to the one place that I'd like to have as a little sanctuary, and find it flooded with anti-Kerry garbage, it's even more discouraging.
