Obama team weighs Nunn, Edwards as running mates http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080619/ap_on_el_pr/obama_veepstakesI think Nunn would be a terrible choice, but what the hell do I know. www.wearableartnow.com

| 1. i don't expect him to pick Edwards... |
|
Nunn might get his some votes; although, Clark or Webb would be better at the same crowd.

Nunn. I don't think he would make a good VP for Obama.
I suspect this is the first of many such articles mentioning two or three possibilities. I believe, if I read Obama correctly, he does not want anyone to find out ahead of time who is his VP choice, and may be casting a few red herrings for the MSM to chew on, to keep them occupied and confused.

that he would accept if asked.

charlies guest was ralph reed. reed was saying obama should choose nunn or webb, or any good southern conservative democrat. it's hard for me to be objective, given that i really dislike reed, but there is some logic in his statement if obama wants to be competative in southern states.

In my opinion, and thats all its worth, BO does NOT need a conservative to win the South. I live here, as far south as you can go in Alabama, and no one but the bigots are voting for McSame. And nothing will change their minds.

courtesy as much as anything. Take Nunn, for example. If Obama were to consider a southerner with strong nat'l security credentials, Nunn is an obvious name that would pop up. And for obvious reasons, it is one that will probably be crossed off pretty soon, too. But out of respect for the man, he has to at least be floated out there. Also, out of respect for the state...
Little things like that do not go unnoticed, especially in the south. We also have to face the fact that democrats are pretty conservative down there.

|
he's too old (almost as old as McCain) and entirely too conservative. Clearly there are other names on the list besides Nunn and Edwards, people were just confirming that these two were on the list, not that they were the only ones.
