On PBS NewsHour, Bill Kristol launched a spirited defense of the Inveterate Liars for Bush.

Is Kristol himself a liar?

At one point, he said, "The vets were right to say, wait a second, we were part of that unit and John Kerry is not telling the truth. But I think in general... I mean, some of these things... many of these things will remain forever disputed and my personal judgment having actually read the book, Mark, and looked at this in some detail is that it's a mixed bag but that John Kerry's service in Vietnam remains impressive in many ways, though the swift vets have some legitimate criticisms."

I suspect Kristol knows the book in question is a smear job, and he would be embarrassed if it were discovered on his bookshelf. He knows the people who said John Kerry is not telling the truth are not right.

1. Why is this even in dispute? Bill Kristol is one of the co-authors,

with Wolfowitz and Kagan of the PNAC document.That document is based on the theories of Leo Strauss which claims that only an Elite that is totally clued into reality can govern the Masses and is entitled to tell them comfortable lies.No doubt Willie and Wolfie and Bobbie think that they are the Elite and the rest of us are the masses.
