Where would you like to see Kerry/Edwards campaign on Labor Day?

Labor Day is the traditional beginning of the fall campaign, where do you think strategically you would like Kerry/Edwards to be on that day?. As for me I would love to see Kerry open his campaign in Independence, Missouri, home of crusty old Harry Truman and Have JK give a "give 'em hell" speech. As Harry said, "I just told the truth and they thought it was hell." Then from Missouri, I would think he should go to a Labor Day event somewhere in Michigan.

As for John Edwards, given his strong showing in the Georgia primary perhaps he could do what Jimmy Carter did on Labor Day, 1976, open his campaign in Warm Springs, Georgia at the cottage of Franklin D. Roosevelt. This way JK and JE can pay homage to two great democratic presidents, FDR and HST. From Warm Springs I think Edwards should then go to Labor Day events in Wisconsin: Milwaukee, Racine or Sheboygan where there are lots of Union members.

1. Haymarket Square in Chicago

home of the 8 hour day/40 hour work week and the police massacre or strikers. They should then make a major policy statemet/announcement about Kerry's plan to protect the 40 hour work week and restore overtime rights to the millions that have lost that right due to the recent Labor Department overtime regulations.

2. Detroit: bring back the tradition

Every Democratic candidate from FDR to Mondale attended the Labor Day parade in Detroit, Kerry should bring the tradition back.

3. At the Del Mar Race Track

since it's just a few miles from my house. (Yes, I am the one and only "Seabiscuit" from Del Mar. And yes, I DO live just a few miles from the race-track since they put me out to "stud" and have since moved to Del Mar Highlands/Carmel Valley. Apparently it worked. My mare's expecting a new colt in September). All of this is true, by the way, except for my being a horse. :)

Seriously, I'd like to see them on Labor Day ahead of Bush 60/40 wherever they may be geographically.

All big union strongholds.
