| NEW Kerry AD: LINKED - shows McCain in Feb 2000 smacking Dumbya down |
|
When Dim-Son had his attack dogs cart out a different "fringe" veteran group to smear McCain. http://www.johnkerry.com/video/console.php?video=082104_old_tricksWish they didn't have to spend money airing this in August but it's a damn effective ad.

McCain comes off as a bit whiny but the dumbass look on shrub's face is priceless. I hope they air it all over the place and especially in Arizona.
Veterans for Bush is like Jews for Hitler. It's a serious breach of sanity.

After viewing this video, how in the world can McCain, whom I do admire by the way, hug Bush without throwing up? I could never ever let such an insult pass. They must have something strong on McCain to have him so actively supporting the "Pretender"

| 7. McCain's concern for his political future surpasses his dislike for Bush. |
|
I would imagine McCain is worried that he would lose influence in the Senate if he backed Kerry or didn't endorse Bush. Even if Kerry wins - even if the Senate remains Republican - you can bet Bill Frist would do everything he could to teach McCain a lesson.
Also remember that McCain's up for reelection this year. I could be wrong, but an endorsement of Kerry might affect his support in the Republican base in Arizona.
It's different with someone like Zell Miller, who is in a position where he can pretty much say what he wants and not face consequences; he'll be out of office next year. And he could probably still win reelection in Georgia if he wanted. Sad but true.

It is indeed a pity that it's not airing on television. I watched it several times. I was particularly struck by Dubya's rather cold-hearted "Yeah" in response to McCain's "That really hurts, George."

We have been subject to that smirk for quite some time now, more than four years for me since I am in Texas..Well I feel for McCain but at least he is getting his digs in by declaring that attacking Kerry's veteran status is just not exceptable.
And he has acknowledged that he and Kerry go way back. Interesting...

If it's the Kerry campaign's ad, giving money to the DNC would not help this air, right?

campaign or the DNC to run it. I know it would be illegal for a 527 to run it, but I'm pretty sure with some alterations at least that the DNC could run it.

Has McCain said anything about this?
It's powerful stuff, It shows the Chimp up for the smug, smirking little liar he is but if McCain goes off about it, it could backfire.
If I had to guess there's a certain quiet between Kerry and McCain to let Kerry use the clip for a few days before McCain denounces it.

I hope even McCain is disgusted by how far this swift boat crap has gone since he hugged Bush a few days ago.
