At first glance, it seemed a shame to spend money defending against these jerks.

On second glance, this is much more than defense. The Chimp has handed Kerry an opportunity for offense, and he's using it.

Calling Gore a "serial liar" was bad enough -- but attacking a veteran's record is way over the line, especially now, and even the media doesn't seem to be going for it (well, some of them).

Now the Chimp has to say he has nothing to do with the SwiftLiars. Come on out and wail, chimpostor!!

14. Need to talk issues, of course - one issue is 19 KIA this week

All this talk about Vietnam and what did or didn't happen, brought up 35 years late is just what the repukes enjoy - to take the focus of everything else.

Why, why did newspapers & TV News and editorials, op-ed's bring to the forefront that 19 soldiers were killed this week! We seem to dismiss the war anytime something else pop ups and then the media makes that their #1 story.

I am so angry over this - I can't imagine being a family member of a troop and know that they are sacrificing and it doesn't even get noticed!

it could disarm Bush and Rove if handled properly. Because Bush has nothing positive to run on - he has no other option but to go negative.

He's doing the media's job for them, the points he makes in this ad should have been the ONLY story about the swiftliars ads.

Bush is doing this because he has no answers, and he's done it before.

Instead, they talk about the "substance" of these smears, and conclude that no one really knows what happened.
