| How will McCain handle his being used in Dem ads when he speaks at...? |
|
the Repub Convention next week? Surely he will be asked to condemn the Dems for using his likeness and his comments in those ads? And surely he will, don't you think?

| 1. The right thing for him |
|
to do would be to refuse to speak at the convention and not campaign for * until he withdraws the ads and apologizes for them but hell will freeze over before that happens. I imagine that condemning the Kerry ads is more likely.

Kerry ads when they are him speaking the truth.

| 3. no, because Bush did not condemn the attacks against Kerry |
|
Kerry did condemn the moveon ads and called on bush to do the same but bush refused. this opened the way to for kerry to run those ads whether mccain likes it or not.

Never forget that John McCain is a politician ... and he has become kind of a media hog, too.
He will not give up being in the national limelight at the podium ... He'll breeze right past any controversy like it didn't exist ... that's my belief about what he will do at the GOP Hatefest in NYC.
Indeed, if McCain has REAL integrity and vision ... he'd finally become an indpendent and tell Bush what we know he actually thinks of him.

Expect some of us to wonder what he will say...and so will some of the media. Maybe more than we suspect. This is the drama the media types love...here's a Veteran's Veteran who silence speaks loudly...or if he speaks out, it's going to be seen as being a "maverick". Methinks, while McCain has no love for Bunnypants, he's got himself in a corner right now.
Let's see how he reacts after the convention.

to this ad, which shows their emperor for the smirky fratboy busted with his hand in the cookie jar that he is.

| 11. he still wants to be president VERY badly, is my guess |
|
there have been editorials suggesting this, and it makes sense, as the power drug is not one from which ones detaches onesself very easily
the only other rational reason for his actions is another one bounced around here a lot, and which has a thread today, I think: Bush has something on him
my guess is it revolves around his wife.....drugs in her past, OR her family's shady business connections

close to, so far, they'll start digging up all those McCain quotes, video clips from the 2000 primaries, REAMING Bush, AND the religious right
there is a BUNCH
and, if the first one is an example of what lies ahead, maybe they're starting to wise up today
however, what little I could stomach of the Sunday shows made me sick, as the hosts played the SVFT as they had any sort of credibility at all, and that their political motivations were irrelevant. the weak responses from dem surrogates was equally appalling. didn't watch much, cause I couldn't stand it, so maybe things changed at some point, but seeing the likes of Dole go unquestioned, and the feckless Bill Nelson just gurgle, with no specific knowledge, was nauseating
and....did they make very LITTLE of the Cordier connection?
from what I saw, it didn't seem much of an issue
what a surprise
anybody have the stomach to watch any of this crap all the way through?

Did anyone see that incredibly awkward bearhug between the two and smooching going on? Of course the media was going bonkers saying Kerry/Edwards were too touchy-feely but I've never seen a hug like that before. I felt awkward just watching it, yikes.
