When did you stop being "anybody but Bush" and become pro-Kerry?

For me, it was his nomination speech. For the first time, I realized that this man does speak for me, and I wouldn't have changed a thing if I were up there myself.

I think because of my French ancestry that when I heard the white house slamming him for being french I took a closer look at him and decided there was a lot there I liked. I ended up supporting someone else in the primary; but i never had really had a problem with him.

But his convention speech was magnificent.

I have read way too much since I have been here to believe that anyone can stop the madness in this world. What's the BFEE gonna do....retire? I remain cautiously optimistic about Kerry. I have his bumper stickers. What other choice do I have?

5. It began for me the day after he nominated Edwards

and the two families walked out on the lawn for a press conference. I was immediately filled with a certainty this was a winning ticket. Just my gut. I held my breath and waited for them to stumble and leave me hanging. But every move they made solidified my belief. I was so nervous the night Kerry gave his speech I had a cigarette. I so wanted him to do well. And he did way beyond well..he blew me out of the water.

I was so glad that he knows what we are up against.

He was my first pick in the primary season. I liked his history of fighting out tough campaigns and I agreed with most of his policy positions.

I switched to Wes Clark when he got in the race. But when Clark lost I switched back to Kerry with no problem.

I never liked Dean much. I appreciated his anger but he didn't strike me as someone who would be able to take out Bush. Kerry always did.

I supported DK because I felt he spoke for me. I knew he wouldn't win the nomination, but I figured some of what he stands for might make it into the platform if he had enough support.

I feel like the plan worked alright...and looking back on it I think Kerry was always my second choice anyway.

about him. This was before the convention- she told me how much his involvement in the Vietnam anti-war movement meant to those already protesting. Then she told me about how he had so much to do with uncovering Iran-Contra.

I started to see that the anti-Bush fervor could actually get us a Prez with a far more liberal record than many other prominent Dems.

By the time the convention rolled around, I was firmly pro-Kerry. I truly think he is the best qualified person to lead the country right now.

Before the convention I was ABB, but when Kerry was on that boat with his band of brothers was IT. He looked presidential. He just had that way about him and I that was when I knew Kerry would be the next President of the US.

22. His Convention Speech.

He was wonderful! There had been some amazing speeches during that convention -- Gore, Clinton, Clark, Obama, Edwards, and Sharpton -- to name only a few (and not intending to slight others) so I had a lot of worries about whether Kerry would be able to deliver. I had also seen him stumble early on in the campaign on Meet the Press. But at the convention, I realized he had been going through a very important learning curve -- he was learning NOT to be a Senator from Massachusetts, but instead, President of the United States. It requires a different kind of communication, and a new level of maturity and skill, and in his speech, Kerry showed that he GOT IT. I am so proud of him. He is going to be a great leader -- honest, trustworthy, intelligent (again, not in a particular order) -- and someone the entire country can be proud of. He also has learned how to get things done in the Senate with people on the opposing side of the aisle, and that is going to be great. I might not like everything he does in the future, but I trust him. He is MY PRESIDENT. :)

25. Nomination speech

He just nailed it and took away my doubt of whether he could handle the job of repairing the tattered reputation of the US Presidency that he WILL take over in 2005. It has just solidified as I delve deeper into his record and policies, he is the man for the job at this point in time. I am however still ABB, if God forbid something were to happen to Kerry before 11/02...I would vote for just about anybody that they put up to defeat Bush, I just hate the idea of that man sitting in MY White House one second longer than the Supreme Court gave him.

26. I was ALWAYS pro-Kerry

I always thought he was the best candidate, but I also always believed he had the best chance politically to beat *.

Although I worried prior to the primaries that Kerry might not get the nomination and I was prepared to support any of the Dem candidates wholeheartedly, my personal analysis gave Kerry the best chance to win.

And I haven't wavered from that stance one bit.
