What is wrong with Dem 527s?

I hear all this talk in the mainstreem media that the problem is the 527s groups. Even Bob Kerrey said today on CNN that the there are 527s doing the same thing to Bush.

WTF??? WTF??? WTF???

What Dem 527 have distorted the facts and personally attacked Bush? Before this whole swift boat vets for Bush started Moveon.org never personally attackec Bush and it seems to be their commercials were all factual. Never heard a repub prove otherwise.

The problem is not 526, the problem are 527 that lie and have a total disregard of the facts.

Also, I hear many Kerry suurogates on TV say that Kerry called out moveon.org when they had an ad comparing Bush to Hitler. Moveon.org never had a hitler ad on TV. Why are dems lying about a liberal 527 on national tv and cable?

1. There is nothing wrong with 527's as long as they comply with the law

The problem with the SBV 527 is that they have no regard for election law and we have documented evidence that they have not complied with the law.

That's the difference.

2. If the media did its job - impartial discovery of the truth - its all moot

then 527's can do what they do but if they lie they get called out and shamed with more airtime than they can buy.

and when they are not acting as independant groups (ie financed by rove and friends and using repub staffers for the ads) they should be shut down by the fec and the funds they spent deducted from the spending limit of the candidate that aided the collusion.

5. To be fair, BOTH Dem and Repub 527's are loose with the facts.

Most of the 527 ads I've seen give limited facts and use a lot of innuendo. They're not designed to make you think, they're designed to elecit an emotional response.

okay, give me one example where a dem 527 is loose with the facts? And by the way, has there ever been a political ad that has NOT BEEN LOOSE WITH THE FACTS? Every damn Bush ad is looser with the facts than any political ad I have ever seen (except for the swift boat vets for Bush ad).

6. Democrats have always played too nice

Now that dubya has told the SBL to stop, (notice he did not condemn them) the Democrats will now play nice. We never really stick it to them
The real difference between the 527's on the left is they are telling the truth and the truth hurts.
But we need to also remember, if the Party actually condemns them or makes certain they do not agree with the ads, it will not necessarily stop the groups from running the ads. And like the SBL's some one will believe it somewhere.
