9. Folks - stop fighting the primary/ start working for victory

We need Obama to win.
That will take all of us.
Stop picking Hillary scabs.
She is a great democrat and would have made a great presidential candidate and president.
But Obama is the candidate. Like it or not.
Stop trashing Hillary.
She would make a great pick for VP.
It may not happen.
She will still be an incredible force in democratic politics for the good of the country in whatever role she has going forward.
Get out there and do the best we can to ensure a democratic victory in November.
So what if Obama is not the best candidate in your view.
He's the one we have.
And he damned good.
And we need him to win.

15. Point by point refute

1) It's not that history making see Mondale in 1984 (Hillary is 10X the person that Geraldine was but its not something the party has done in the past)
2) Bush needs Cheney to carry him because well he's kind of stupid...Barack can carry himself, say what you want he's not a dumbass and his VP will not have Cheney powers or stature
3) Nobody is entitled to either the Vice Presidency or the Presidency
4) Obama has her counsel anytime he wants it or needs it and I'm sure he'll use it when the Healthcare bill comes to congress and she's actually a better ally there as the sponsor of the bill than in the Naval Observatory.

There has only been one VP that was elected and served in the past 74 years that didn't involve something tragically happening after the two terms of their President.

The VPs that were elected after two terms are Bush I, Hoover, and Taft...all had miserable Presidencies and left after their first term by the will of the people.

Nixon was elected in 1968 8 years after losing in 1960.

Reality is reality. We need a white male moderate. Kaine is the best choice. Bayh is second best.
Why? Because Hillary brings nothing to the ticket (no NEW constituencies, no red territory,etc.) and she brings too much of the bad baggage. A white male moderate helps expand the map and into constituencies we need to win: i.e. more working class whites, more white males, more red states, more moderate indys, etc. THINK OUTSIDE THE FAR LEFT BOX AND ASK YOURSELF WHY WE HAVE LOST AGAIN AND AGAIN: because we have been too ideologically narrow to win nationally. Clinton won because he was a moderate. Get the picture??

23. I think McBush is delving into identity politics as an ace up his sleeve

which is a sad commentary on how the Republicans view minorities.

Adding Clinton to the ticket would open Pandora's Box that really has very little to do with identity politics. I realized that her campaign had very little to do with feminism when her camp put forth the badly veiled admonition that if Barack doesn't pick her, he can't choose another woman.

Barack has already stated quite clearly the kind of VP he is looking for and why. He seems to appreciate a certain amount of zen in his campaign. I suspect his choice will be someone whom he feels comfortable with first and foremost.
