The first two letters. Both written by veterans.

1. Excerpts:

"I am a Vietnam veteran. I served with the 9th Infantry Division in the Mekong Delta in 1969. Navy "swift boats" and riverine forces were critical elements of our joint military operations. I find it reprehensible that a thinly veiled front group for the president has called into question through a defamatory TV ad Sen. John Kerry's war-time service."

"It is amazing to me, as a vet from the Gulf War, how the media even allow these guys all the airtime they're getting. They look like fools out there making statements, one contradiction after another, attacking Kerry...

I wasn't even going to vote for Kerry before all this. I was voting Bush. But this has convinced me that Bush and Co. are just as sleazy as these Swift Boat Vets for letting this go on, so I'm taking my chances with Kerry!"

2. Great letters

I especially liked this part from the first letter:

If these guys hate John Kerry for his 1971 testimony to Congress about Vietnam, they should use that as their basis for attack. But getting out there and just making up garbage is ridiculous.

I wasn't even going to vote for Kerry before all this. I was voting Bush. But this has convinced me that Bush and Co. are just as sleazy as these Swift Boat Vets for letting this go on, so I'm taking my chances with Kerry!

This guy nails it on the head, the Swifties were upset with Kerry's testimony and instead of using that as their basis of attack, they decided to smear him and make up lies about his record. Scumbags.

Glad to hear this episode has put a vote into Kerry's column from Bush's column!
