whenever you encounter a gaggle of men in blue (or black, or whatever the hell they're wearing these days) . . . worked wonders in DC way back when, and might help keep things cool next week . . .

1. I'm making a t-shirt that says

Money for cops, not for cronies.

Seriously, the cops I know are NOT into this at all. They are pissed and may very likely hold their own protests as they have been outside of Bloomberg's apartment at the wee hours of the morning for the past several days.

2. And realize that you should be quite sincere, because the first-responders

are being hosed by Shrub and Ridge. They have a very hard, often thankless job. Maybe the most thankless--at least teachers are shot at a little less often.
