On cspan the log cabin republicans are talking about getting out a HUGE majority of their vote for Kerry, and On FAUX, the beltway boys publicly disavowed the concept of "compassionate conservative" as an outright fraud! Ain't that touching? I'm thrilled!

This is twillin'! I loved what one of them said-- something about his grandfather telling him that his sex life ended when he got married. Since the problem, to gay haters, is that they fuck each other, let 'em get married-that'll stop it!! Teehee

Cheney's sudden endorsement of state's rights on the gay marriage issue?
My heart wants to believe that Cheney spoke out of concern and love for his lesbian daughter. My head says it was calculated to win those Log Cabin Repubs.

one guy said sure it ought to be ok if cheney spoke up for his daughter once every four years., And if trickie dickie would cuss someone out on the senate floor for dissing Haliburton, then why the f*** won't he do something like that when some ape disses his daughter? Too kewl!

It sounds unlikely to me for Fred Barnes and Mort Kondracke to both denounce Bush's claim to be a "compassionate conservative" as a fraud.

something like that? I have to assume the remark was part of some larger Bush apologist tap-dance. That's the only dance those boys know.

Really nice guy. He had fallen hook/line/sinker for the "Compassionate Conservative" BS. I tried to warn him.

IMO there was a bad taste left from eight years of Clinton bashing and his (Clinton's) insisting that wto was a wonderful thing, coupled with his silly indiscretion. That single act left many people stroking their chins and mumbling that maybe Clinton really was a dog and all the crap perhaps had a basis in truth. The fact that Gore didn't just open up on the public stage and proclaim that what Clinton did was despicable (it was, under the circumstances) but also that the economy was far more important, instead of pretending there wasn't an elephant in the middle of the room, left way too much discomfort as well as left folks open to the promise the Douche would respect them in the morning. There's too much of this pretending stuff will go away if you ignore it long enough (it didn't) and a lack of clear, unambiguous, declarative statement about where you stand. Even though it turned out to be a pack of lies, the opposition kept their baggage well hidden and were clear in what they actually said. Oldest lines in the world. How many paternity suits have resulted from the same thing. With few exceptions, John Kerry has made himself clear to all of us who are willing to listen, and the thugs are the ones who are trying to fog up the history, this time. Kerry's going to win.
