Republicans ask supporters to give to newly-created Republican Party subsidiary

Excerpt: During their presentations, Laura Bush and Cindy McCain encouraged people to go to the website of something called "Cause Greater." I had never heard of this particular charity ... "Cause Greater" is not a charity, but rather a wholly owned subsidiary of the McCain campaign. Rather than directing assistance to existing charities (which is what the Obama campaign has done by encouraging people to donate to the Red Cross and/or Save the Children), they are instead directing charitable donors to a campaign portal that also happens to include a link to the McCain home page.

Read the linked article. It's semi-scummy that you get redirected to a site that features some McInsane accoutrements, but the author of the article will probably be informed soon that AidMatrix handled the donations to the ARC for the Obama campaign as well. Mine went through there the other day.
