Before the Dem convention, the press and media were talking non stop of what the Democrats and Obama "had to do". The Obamas had to prove they are really the Huxtables, He had to clarify his message, make his policies known, define who he is as a candidate, make us believe he is qualified, pick a VP who will compliment his supposed short experience. His wife had to prove she wasn't an angry '70's radical and just a mom and a patriotic one at that.
The Clintons had to unify the party, on and on.
The Rebubs? all they gotta do is show up, invoke 9/11 and Reagan, say a few prayers and go home. Success!

...and yet the party looked more unified than ever.

On the other hand, Ron Paul and Bob Barr are pulling a very significant percentage of GOP voters away from the party, and nary a word is spoken about it.
