| Somebody Explain How They Hail Bush's Behavior After 9/11 |
|
How much courage did it take to stand in the rubble with a bull horn? Who couldn't have done that? I've never understood how the media gets all misty when they recount his behavior at ground zero.

Maybe it was because he wasn't wearing a protective mask? You know, like EVERYONE should have been wearing except BushCo lied?

All show and no substance. It's amazing how many people fall for it.

He did nothing extraordinarily ingenious.
The 'pubs act as though if ANYONE other than Buxh had been in office, he would have rented out the East wing of the White House to Al Qadda.

He should be judged on what he did about getting Bin Ladin. And there he couldn't have failed more miserably.

You know, the one that tried to spin skedaddling off to a bunker in Nebraska as an act of heroism and self sacrifice. I guess there are a few rubes out there who bought it, although not as many as the Bush junta would like.
The media get all misty over his despicable performance because they are paid handsomely to do so.

| 6. There are 2 Key Events |
|
which establish his 9/11 reputation . The first is the photo op with the firefighter , the second is the invasion of Afghanistan . The American people have responded favorably to those and we kid ourselves if we dismiss it . That's why I think Kerry's been right to emphasize his strength using the metaphor of his Vietnam service . Likewise , his continued support of the authorization to invade Iraq is central to convincing the voters that he will do what it takes to protect the country . The comfort I take is that I firmly believe he would not have gone into Iraq because the U.N. weapons inspections would have been allowed to play out and the justification for war never could have been made . More importantly now , Kerry would not be setting us on an irrevocable path to fight Iran .

I don't kid myself about the power of the images, I just feel that once you think about them objectively they lose some of their juice. I realize Rove is counting on people not thinking, but reacting emotionally.

Let's review: he went to Ground Zero three days later, put on a hardhat and gave a speech.
Then he sent troops and bombs to the country that was supposedly harboring the mastermind behind the attack.
Um, would you really expect a president to do anything LESS than that? Please.
Like David Cross said, "We act like he got third place in the Special Olympics."

It should have been obvious that something had gone wrong, and that he should have been immediately held accountable. However, through the exploitation of paranoia and bogus "patriotism" or jingoism, the gave and continues to give this ass a pass.
