of information about Bush after the GOP convention? Sometimes I can't believe how passive the campaign is being, especially in it's response to the Swift Boat attack ads. This is either the most pathetic, naive campaign ever, or they have something up their sleeve and they're just waiting for the right moment to strike.
Since they know Bush will get a boost after the circle-jerk in NYC, are they waiting until September or October to unload on Bush with both barrels? That seems like a smart move. Hit with so many things all at once, that he can't possibly refute them all. Bush has so many skeletons in his closet that if they all come out at the same time not even Karl Rove can make them go away.

Plus taking a strong visible role during the protests would link Kerry to the protests diminishing both his effectiveness and the effectiveness of the Protests. Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

Check this thread too: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=691148&mesg_id=691148I am happy that Kerry has started fighting back against the Swift Liars, but he's going to have to have to put Bush on the defensive to win this.

assuming it's not full of convention coverage. Or I'll read a transcript.

because I am looking at it from a southern perspective, or something like that. I'm sure someone up there knows what they are doing, or at least I hope so! :)

Everything before then is merely a warm up...Clinton was way behind at this point in '92. Just keep that in mind.

|
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 10:45 AM by gratuitous
Remember, Kerry has had to campaign for an extra month under the $75 million campaign expenditure limit, because the Republican convention was being held so late. Nothing would have made the Bushistas happier than for Kerry to have burned through $15 or $20 million during August, leaving him cash poor for the months of September and October.
Nothing irks the Republicans more than a fair fight.

| 17. Didn't need a barrage before convention, but |
|
Seems to me that it would have been easy for DNC and Kerry campaign to reinforce the perception prior to the convention that whatever this administration says is NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
How many instances of deception and incompetence could have been discussed before now so that whatever is said in the convention about how well BushCo has done and about how badly Kerry has done will be questioned rather than accepted?
This is another missed opportunity.
Deception and incomptence should be the underpinnings of the discussion over the next month, and more of this should have been done prior to the convention. Half this country and most of the world already see what a disaster this administration is....I have to believe we are close to a tipping point and with effective, well-timed pushing in the right direction the whole thing might go over.

|
You are right that we could have considered trying to set him up for "he's lying" in advance of the convention.
Hopefully they will go on the attack the day the convention ends.
The Republicans did not let Kerry have a single day of "honeymoon" after his convention and Democrats need to do the same.
