| On this whole "Palin more popular than Obama" distortion... |
|
For one, I've gotten to where I've found Rasmussen to underate Obama on EVERYTHING. And of course they try to make sure the margin of error on those numbers is in the finest of fine print.
But aside from all that, are you honestly going to tell me that Palin could pack Invesco field with 85,000 people. Is there any way in HELL she would attract 200,000 screaming Germans waving American flags and Barack Obama signs?
Are you honestly going to tell me that Palin would create lines 6 miles long for something that amounts to a town hall even in a high school gymnasium (something I've personally experienced in Columbus Ohio).
Are you honestly going to tell me that Palin could create an ARMY of 2 million donors and volunteers that have funded this campaign and got people out to vote for this campaign.
Come on now. If the popularity number is high for her at all, its only because she was a unknown, nobody that became a complete surprise VP pick (and the first woman picked for her party). If she has any high amount of popularity right now, its because of the newness, because she is the latest fad in this seemingly, never ending, political drama that is the 2008 election.
I think the only reason "they" are pushing this popularity thing at all is because the "celebrity" attacks ads basically failed to do what they were meant to do. So now, instead of trying to turn Obama's popular status among Americans and the entire free world into a bad thing, they are trying to create the perception that they have "their own Obama".
Don't pay anymore attention to this poll. Its just another attempt by certain pollsters and the media to keep making this thing seem like its a horse race. The horse race perception brings in more ratings, more advertisers and more drama to sell.
Lets do ourselves a favor and refuse to buy it.

| 1. I'm always surprised at the numbers they report when I compare the |
|
number of people at any given Obama event to those of McCain's. And those are just the people who SHOWED UP. There are millions more like me who don't attend, but we're staunch supporters and voters nonetheless.

| 3. And McCain has to bus in a crowd. They couldn't hide the |
|
empty seats at the pub convention. Make me chuckle. Heh.

she "won" her mayorship by a write in campaing in which she got approximately 660(?) the first time and 960(?) from a town of over 5000, so even by percentage she loses.
