| To all of the "stop the negative campaigning" folks - Republicans have consistently won that way |
|
I'm sorry but sitting back and taking the high road will lead to another democratic loss. The republicans are total scum and though most people know this, they also crave the drama which in turn gets them votes. How many times have we heard that the dems are weak?
Obama is doing something necessary to win, fighting back. Not everyone will like it, I understand but this is politics and he has two choices, sit back and take the blatantly false attacks and lose this election or hit them back with a fucking sledge hammer and show he's a fighter. I'll take the sledge hammer approach and go ahead and watch his numbers climb. He is doing what it takes to get to the white house and in no way shape or form is it nearly as bad as the path the republicans take.

I rarely listen to his program but like him or not he was right. He asked "Do you want to be right or do you want to win?"
And he urged the campaign to keep it simple. It's not oil, it's gas. It's not health care, it's health insurance. And it's jobs, jobs jobs.
And face the fact that many, many people like and are responding to Palin. So going after her religion, wacky as it may be, is a non starter.
This is going to get very ugly. I'm ready for an ad that asks why MaCain is against kids knowing what to do when approached by strange men. And let McCain's picture be there for the whole ad. Do just like they're doing with the sex ed ad with Obama's pic in it the whole time. We know what that is. And we can hit them back making McCain the scary guy who sides with predators.
Maybe we need to get down and dirty to save our country.

That is how the republicans do business - dirty politics so that everyone is so fed up, they don't vote. And it always seems to help them win. Saw that in a documentary. Anyway, I originally thought Barack should not stoop to their dirty politics and should remain on the high road. But now I am thinking it is not enough. So he should fight back. And I think he has the intelligence and ability to fight back in an honorable and effective way.
