6. I was thinking about this today driving to work

I think he really IS that dumb. He seems to be speaking down to the citizens when he speaks, but I don't think he really is. I think he is just a parrot. I think he repeats what he has been told just as it was told to him, explained to him as if he were a five year old. I think they dumb it down for HIM to understand and he just repeats it word for word. He seems to speak coherently when someone has written his speech for him (as long as they keep it to short, familiar words), but left to find his own words, he bombs. Even when reading a speech he seems to revert to his elementary school level syntax when embelishing the meaning of any statement. His interview with Matt Lauer is perfect evidence of this. He had to have overheard someone (maybe even Poppa) say that the "war on terror" couldn't be won and thought that it was the same thing that he had been saying, just in different words. In an attempt to appear to be offering the same message in a fresh way, he blew it big time.

Every time he starts a sentence with "See, ..." I believe that he shows just how much he doesn't understand complex situations and believes that none of us can either. Must have something to do with the pretty pictures they use to get him to understand what they say his opinion should be on any given subject. And sadly, he doesn't have to "get it", he just has to repeat it enough times that the sheep believe it.

And he knows how to charm certain people. He has the sort of intelligence that knows how to manipulate. But he can't create or analyze.

I understand that being "born again" somewhat innoculates him against all the shit he pulled when he was young and sniffling. But wouldn't you think all that coke and booze would have a residual effect? Isn't there an expert somewhere who would like to theorize about why he talks so funny now? Why he's so incompetent?
