| John Kerry was the Sheriff of the Senate.... |
|
The Repubs are continually asking, "What did Kerry do in his 20 years in the Senate"? For starters, he was keeping his eyes on the Republicans that were connected through various channels to criminal endeavors and unconstitutional activities. Remember Iran-Contra? John Kerry was the person that was the leader in investigating that illegal operation that sold arms to Iran and the Ayatollah so they could take the profits and fund their little war down in Nicaragua. That was coincidentally, led by GHWB and players such as Ollie North, Elliot Abrams, and John Negroponte, and George W Bush - all active in the present Administration, in one capacity or another. An illegal war, banned by the Congress, and one which Ronald Reagan should have been impeached.
But that wasn't the only activity that John Kerry was investigating. Many big time politicians were involved in the BCCI scandal, including a periphereal role by the present occupant of the White House, George W Bush. These "politicians" were assisting the present-day terrorists in getting started, by assisting them in laundering their money at various banks in this country. No Senator uncovered more of these questionable and illegal activities than John Kerry. If I were a Republican and my hands were not real clean, I'd be worried about John Kerry being the president, also....

I like that. Their propaganda says he has no record to run on outside of Vietnam. Then they say his record is the most liberal. Sheriff of the Senate is another very good label to put on Kerry. Kerry campaign operatives, are you listening?

Led the fight to block terrorist funding before anyone ever heard of Al Queda.
Led the fight against corporate criminals, before Enron was a houshold name.
Led. Led. Led. Led. Led. Kerry was, is, and always has been a leader.

need to be pushed. You've summed it up in a really concise way. Those are the two major issues that make him one of the major standouts in the Senate over the last several years. I'll do my best to spread the Tough Prosecutor,Deficit Hawk, and Sheriff of the Senate ideas and I hope the professionals working on Kerry's campaign find a way to do so as well.
