The World's Shortest Blog is offering a reward -- which has now grown to $230.28 -- payable to the first person to confront George W. Bush and ask him one simple question:
"How many times have you been arrested, Mr. President?"Many of you are no doubt aware of the fact that
no one has ever confronted W with this direct question. And neither Scotty, nor Ari, nor Karen or Karl has ever addressed it head on.
Instead, W's drunk-driving arrest, you'll recall, wasn't exposed until the Thursday before the 2000 election. So his criminal record never got the kind of sunlight it should have.
Of course, the debacle that began three days later cut short all examination. Go ahead and Lexis/Nexis this yourself, if you'd like: W never had to face this question.
So that's the reason for the reward. I'm hoping that DUers will adopt the cause and help the site get a little more exposure.
Today, a friend of mine forwarded to me a prickly e-mail from Aaron Brown's Blackberry -- claiming that five people messaged him today about this one simple question. (I suspect Mr. Brown may be exaggerating; if not, this could conceivably get traction if somebody in the media starts talking about it again. If Brown's e-mail is any kind of an indicator, there's at least a little buzz about W's criminal record right now.)

Toss a buck or two into the pot, if you'd like.
Better yet, do the deed and claim it!
