It was clearly labeled. It doesn't violate any rules. No one forced anyone to click on it.

Don't know any of them personally so it's pretty hard to evaluate. As for "inconsistencies" in statements about public policy, EVERY politician can be nailed for that so by that standard they are ALL dishonest.

Clark is definately the most honest. Dean however, has sealed all of his records up because he has a lot to hide. I wouldn't trust dean with my car.

which leads me to believe he is the most honest. I guess you never know until they actually get in there... just ask a "compassionate conservative" who voted for that uniter *.
Trust is a big underlying issue for this election. Good poll.

Clark never had an obligation to tell us who he voted for in a secret ballot.
That's honesty.
Middle-class Americans, as Dean says, never got a tax cut. So there's no tax cut to take away.
That's honesty.
Politically unpopular honesty is the rarest kind. Both the leading candidates have demonstrated it.
All the Dems are infinately more honest than the Bush regime.

Dean is a greaseball liar and waffler extraordinaire. Anyone who thinks he is honest needs to ease up on the Kool-Aid.

Dean: "I was never a strong supporter of NAFTA." "I never said I thought the retirement age should be raised to 70." Among MANY to choose from (there are a lot more...and, yes, he was LYING about both of these. Dean has a severe honesty problem. And YOU seem to have a severe truth andf objectivity problem.

Got a great deal of respect for Mr. Edwards, I bet I am the only one or one of the few only ones in another campaign who don't mind the millworker stuff. In fact he really made me :) when he said at Rock the Vote, something like I am fighting for those I grew up with. Did you know that DK considers him his best friend of all the candiates. See the daily show interview. Plus I heard Elizabeth Edwards posted on y'alls blog that she always seeks him out. Edwards I think even if he doesn't get this nomination will be going places in the party, like AG which I think would be neat, hes on my list for APs, Elliot Spitzer of NY is there too, and I wouldn't mind him as VP honest. Good guy, I am suprised Edwards wasn't listed on the poll.

Care to expand on that?
Reading this thread... reading about inconsistencies... it dawned on me that honesty is more than just having the integrity to be factually honest about your record and your stance on issues with supporters, journalists, etc.
It also means being honest with yourself. If you have a strong sense of right and wrong, and you stand up for those values consistently, that's a kind of honesty rarely displayed. Moral courage, as RFK put it.

I think that, in general, Dennis takes his positions on principle, rather than popularity. Except, I must say, on abortion. But I give him credit for being honest before this, even if I disagreed with him.
Most politicians, I believe, don't think they would have much of a chance at the Presidency without compromising their positions a bit. They want to get elected, and figure that modifying their personal views toward the majority is an acceptable compromise. When it comes to the Presidency, I tend to agree, unless you sell out your beliefs altogether. People will see through that, anyway.
