| I'm having that IOWA feeling... |
|
The feeling the media has decided who they want to win, and are now actively working to ruin John Kerry just like they did to Howard Dean.
Stuff like the sudden 10 point lead in the polls - c'mon - this is a polarizing election - there was no 10 point swing...

| 1. That poll is likely bullshit. |

I refuse to believe Bush somehow got a ten point lead before he even gave his speech. It just doesn't make much sense. My guess is that they overweighted their poll with convention watchers, who are mainly Republicans. I am going to wait for sober polls taken three and four days after the convention before I am ready to get worried. Hell, one of the snap polls in 1984 during the Democratic Convention showed Mondale ahead of Reagan, but a few days later, Mondale was 9-11 points behind.

think about this - You can set the parameters. You can basically predict the responses by WHERE you call. All they have to do is put long run of calls in an area favorable to W.
Do they report all the calls made or do they pair down the sample size?
Say W is 0 and Kerry is 1:
010101010101000011110000000000000000000000000 * 1111111111111111110101001001 Select a subset of the results where the star is and call that you total number of respondants. It gives a distorted picture.
Polls are just a form of manufactured propaganda.

| 7. Some of each, I'd say. Another factor was also....erm...Kerry. |
|
You know, the guy everyone thought was all over back in December.
signed, was Deaniac and also surprised by Kerry's win.

| 5. At first I thought your subject line was about Kerry pulling ahead in |

Iowa.
This is what I keep telling myself...that more than once in his history, Kerry has gone quite suddenly from lagging behind to winning in a landslide.
This of course does not take into account what we're up against now; but it gives me some hope, anyway.
