Freeper analysis of Palin's SNL performance - Funnier than SNL!

The following was just posted on the Freeper site. It is funnier than SNL.

"SHE WAS SENSATIONAL---BUT NOT FOR ANY THING SHE SAID- When she walked by Tina Fey on stage-well- the best way I could put it her admirers is - it was as if Ronald Reagan walked on stage and passed an imposter. The image was day and night- In that instant, the caricature was wholly undone by reality.

And the look she gave Tina was priceless- it wasn't mean, or nasty, or dirty- the best I can say is that it was a pleasant, but resolute look--the force of which sort of propelled Tina off the stage.

Most significantly, to us, when Gov. Palin looked into the camera, one could see she was every bit a trained professional media person. The camera loved her, and she loves the camera.

It's neglgent of the McCain campaign not to allow this woman to give a primetime address to the nation.

This guy called it a week ago--he said, if he were a Democrat he would not want her any where near SNL. Richard Greene, a communications experts, said this: "She is so charming and so media savvy. When she has a script, she will completely seduce America."

He was right on---get her on national tv and change the momentum of the election. "

My wife... 41 year old, white, registered Republican, career woman... who SHOULD be the Demographic that Palin appeals to... cringed and said it was awful, that it made her look bad.


As someone said in another thread.... she was a prop. She had no funny moments. Some funny moments AROUND her, but none BY her.

Projecting through the Screen Rich Lowry

A very wise TV executive once told me that the key to TV is projecting through the screen. It's one of the keys to the success of, say, a Bill O'Reilly, who comes through the screen and grabs you by the throat. Palin too projects through the screen like crazy. I'm sure I'm not the only male in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, "Hey, I think she just winked at me." And her smile. By the end, when she clearly knew she was doing well, it was so sparkling it was almost mesmerizing. It sent little starbursts through the screen and ricocheting around the living rooms of America. This is a quality that can't be learned; it's either something you have or you don't, and man, she's got it.
