|

I have been watching her decompensate on TV in re: Obama for months now and I feel this needs to be written.
When Andrea was a young gal right out of college in Philly, beginning her career, she was married to a black man named Gil Jackson who worked for Smith, Kline, and French - now known as Glaxo Smith-Kline in their publicity department. I knew people in experimental film at the time and he was an erstwhile film-maker. He unfortunately had a terminal case of MS and died shortly after their break-up. I believe that she was step-mother to children of his from a previous marriage. As far as the world is concerned, this chapter of her life does not exist.
I believe that she is having a reaction-formation to Barack. I am not a mental health professional, but interestingly, her reaction to him is IMO a bit peculiar and she never misses a chance to take a shot at him. This is not, again IMO because she hates him, but rather, that she is defensive about her past life. It explains much about her attitudes towards Barack and her hesitancy to ever say anything positive about him, his family, or his campaign. She is actually quite drawn to him and feels the need to be defensive.
All this, of course is speculation, but she is quite interesting psychologically, given her 'second' life.

I see a woman who now has more money than God, yet knows that the country is a mess. I see it as a simple conflict between her own self-interest and the interest of something outside of herself.

I wonder why she's so defensive about it. It shows that she is a tolerant and open person.

Seems to me your analysis of her motivation is spot on.
If we learn that there is a basis for what previously appeared to be inexplicable, we can better understand why these assholes act as they do.
On Edit: Not that I forgive or condone her actions toward Obama.

Because of my position here, I know many things about many people. Some have been told to me 'in confidence', some are public record but archived so to speak, and some are discoveries which I have made on my own by piecing together information from unlikely sources, that is info from people who don't know that I might have familiarity with others. It's like solving a puzzle.
I don't like bringing up too much here...if I said what I know about public figures in PA, I might never be heard from again. Local residents will recall the dentist who was found shot and his car torched with him in it. He was doing something very bad and paid the price. I will not disclose what that was but suffice it to say that there are people you just don't mess around with here. Period.
So I'm kind of reluctant to bring stuff up about public people, not that I'm afraid, but that sometimes it just isn't germane. This I felt, was.

Was Gil Jackson much older than her? I don't understand her attraction to her old, ugly and now discredited husband except maybe power and intelligence.
Thanks for that info and analysis

is Mrs. Alan Grenspan, which combined with what you said, explains a lot.
I think she tried to be "objective" but she has too many personal attachments to really do so.

who lived next door to Andrea in Philly when she was married to her first husband. Yes he was black and yes she was helping raise his children. My friend claims he was bizarre and verbally abusive and that the whole neighborhood could hear him yelling and screaming. They were married for quite a while.

an embarrassment to MSRNC. I think she was brought in to offset the overt racism of Buchanan, who is sort of a cartoon Republican. Sitting him with a nice looking, soft-spoken, blonde female Repuke gives the propaganda a great deal of authenticity.

Whatever the reason for andrea's and all the corporatemediawhore$ interjecting their own mediawhore spin onto Obama and protecting mccain ..they need to be held accountable or this will go on and on through Obama's Presidency.

And while he is not black that's not what I want to talk about. For the purposes of general clarification there is no such thing as "terminal" MS. It's certain side complications that might kill you. It is a disease that steals from you piece by tiny piece, and I understand caregiver burnout. Together my husband and I raised 4 kids, 2 mine and 2 his, and I have tons of experiences--some horrible, some lifechanging.
That hasn't turned me into a hateful, crazy woman with issues. I like to think I took the oppurtunity during hardship to gain a better comprehension of the human condition as well as a deeper compassion. Do I fall short? Of course.

| 26. I am truly sorry to hear that your husband has MS. |
|
I believe my point was that her husband had a rapidly-progressing case of MS which in most cases leads to a premature death. I have treated many patients who had MS and who exhibit various clinical courses, and quite honestly, very few whom I have had the privilege to treat passed away as young or as quickly as Andrea's husband did. Of course, there are new medications, but from all accounts, this was a very bad case.
Again, please accept my apologies for my imprecise use of the language.

I think we would like them to be It would be nice to be able to say, "He is evil.", "She is good." and to have everyone fit into neat categories. But they just don't. People can be ugly when they are young and grow to goodness. Or they can be idealistic in their youth and grow jaded and cynical. People change.
