| The REAL Reason Joe Scarborough Said Obama Should Not Run Up The Score in NC |
|
Say what you want about Joe Scarborough, he knows the South.
He also knows that the ugly shit happening in North Carolina related to race is going to hit the national media, and he doesn't want it associated with the Republican Party.

|
Because there is nothing happening in NC that also isn't happening in other swing states.

NC is the most racist least polite place in the country. Apparently, Boston is more polite than the whole of NC.

We don't help matters by maligning an entire state.

| 13. It's NOT that Niorth Carolina is any more or less racist than any other part of the country |
|
It's that North Carolina is part of the old South and that overt racism is being displayed there.
That coupled with the fact that North Carolina has become a battleground state will be the reasoning ebhind national media picking up on the narrative and running with it.

| 23. Look at the racism, ON TAPE, from Western Pennsylvania |
|
That warrants national attention but it doesn't get national attention because overt racism like what was displayed in the YouTube video does not fit a comfortable national media narrative.
Overt racism, even if it's simply racial slurs being painted on Obama siges, DOES fit the comfortable stereotypes of tha tnaitonal media and will, therefore, garner the attention of the national media.
Yes, the video at the Sarah Palin rally in Western PA is damning and puts the GOP into a horrible light, but it'll never hit the national media. Racism in Western PA does not fit the stereotypical narrative the national media likes to push
The more innocuous overt racism of painting racial slurs on Obama signs in North Carolina WILL garner the attention of the national media simply because it is happening in North Carolina.

| 19. That may well be true, but racisim is being displayed there |
|
Obama signs are being painted with KKK and local news organizations are reporting it.
I cannot deny, the racists in Western Pennsylvania were far worse, but that doesn't matter.
The fact that It's North Carolina is what matters. That is why the national media is going to pick up on the story.
The video of the racists in Western Pennsylvania waiting to get into the Sarah Palin rally will never hit the national media because ti doesn't fit well with the nice stereotypes the national media is comfrotable with, but this will because reporting racism in North Carolina fits the stereotype.

| 4. One thing I noticed today, about the Fayetteville rally.... |
|
there were a lot less white people there. Grated, there were some, but not like in other parts of the country....that bothered me....but I've seen pix in other parts of NC where there were a lot of whites, so maybe it's just Fayetteville?

Could be that more blacks came from surrounding areas.

giving the thumbs up to McCain/Palin rally's! He and others like him have encouraged the behavior by spouting the hate talking points.
Let it all come out! For every action there is a reaction, Joe can thank McCain/Palin for that!
