| So What Are We Going to Do About the Debates and Their "Spin" |
|
Let's face it. Even if W shows up drunk and takes a header into the first row, our "esteemed" media is going to say that he beat Senator Kerry. They're going to repeat it until the cows come home.
So rather than refight the primaries here in GD2004 or do the "Kerry's Campaign Sucks" two-step, why don't we spend some time figuring out how we can help with the post-debate spin.
Stuff like letters to the editor, voting in online polls. radio/TV show call-ins, stuff like that.
Any suggestions?

Perhaps we should all pledge to write one letter per day? With the abundance of local newspapers around these days, there should always be another one available to write to. We can even write to USA TOday, or to newspapers from large cities all across the country.
Even more important would be influencing the tv news media. I'm not sure what the secret to that is. Bombarding the show hosts with letters demanding that they cover certain topics MIGHT help get those topics some air time. That's how the righties dominate TV news coverage.

After all the media insists he "won" every debate he's ever had, right?
And Bush has "grown" so much after 9/11, he is surely to be even better this time, right?
SO- it is Kerry who now has the soft biggotry of low expectations against him.
It is KERRY who wins the debate by merely having the guts to face Bush's home-spun brilliance. Right?
