Our upcoming Get Out The Vote/9.11 Memorial Second Line Parade is a non-partisan Voter Registration and Outreach Second Line dedicated to the memory of those who died on 9.11.2001 and all ensuing victims of the wars on Afghanistan and Iraq on all sides, to take place on September 11, 2004.

For those of you not familiar with a second line, the "second line" began as one aspect of the jazz funeral parade, but now exists on its own as New Orleans most common street parades. Second Lines are walking parades and once the parade starts rolling the bands' music serves as a announcement that everyone in the community is welcome to come along and join in the celebration. In the case of a memorial second line, it's a celebration of the lives of the deceased like the traditional New Orleans Jazz Funeral.
