| Edwards to speak in ME on Wed; Stephen King to speak before him |
|
John Edwards will be speaking on the campus of the U of Maine in Orono at 5PM on Wednesday. I just got an email saying Stephen King will be there and will speak before Edwards.
I'm not a King fan but I'm glad to see him taking part! (I was a student at UMO at the same time as King.)

| 6. Watch how the rightwing will tie this to the new "sKerry" meme |
|
"Kerry is so sKerry, he had to have Stephen King introduce his running mate!"
They're so fucking predictable. Watch. It'll happen.

| 7. King's always been a big liberal |
|
In Dreamcatcher, he didn't refer to Bush by name but he mentioned a president that he called "Okiefeenoakkeee" and that he had just won the narrowest U.S. Presidential election in history. King also said he wouldn't trust President Okiefeeenoakee at all. Dreamcatcher was published in 2001.
Also, there's a lot of rumors floating around that King will be retiring soon, and that he will announce it shortly after the last Dark Tower book is released, which will be later this month. Maybe he'll be spending more time in politics.
