| Well since my last post went over so great. I figure I would try again, |
|
since I can't edit the offending OP.
Look the point was not everynone should be out knocking on doors this weekend. it was that we should not be sitting here on DU when we could be working to elect the next president, Folks it is all about getting out the vote and as someone else has more elequesntly posted, We have a lot of people say they are going to show up and work and do no show up at all. We are trying to work a very large tactical plan,
If you are desperate to see a change in this country and you have any time at all this weekend PLEASE CALL YOUR LOCAL OBAMA OFFICE! and pitch in.
Posting on DU is not nearly as important as we think it, when you could be winning hearts and minds in your neighborhood. I love the passion here. But we have to get on the streets. THIS WEEKEND. THIS IS IT. THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN SAY HERE ON DU THAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHAT YOU CAN SAY TO PEOPLE WHO MIGHT BE PERSUADED.

| 5. Every vote counts. What are you waiting for? Think of the people you might be missing this morning. |
|
If Obama loses, this is all your fault.

My guess is that most of us are doing our best to elect Obama. This weekend I will not be canvassing, but phone banking for a few days both Saturday and Sunday. I think we know how important this election is. If there are a few people here who aren't doing anything except voting on Tuesday--that's fine with me, too, as long as they vote.

when you're in the hole. If you were smart, you'd get both the original and this thread locked for stupidity.

| 12. DU is not for persuading anyone to vote for Obama, it is preaching to the choir. |
|
I don't really believe that there are really many people who are truly undecided and need convincing.
There does need to be a well organized and efficient get out the vote effort. I am not convinced that flooding local campaign offices with well intentioned, but inexperienced people who just want to help on the final weekend of the campaign is the best way to accomplish that.
I was involved at an event at a local school this week and at the last minute a lot of the students wanted to help. They, too, were well intentioned but in the end it turned out to be organized chaos. We could have used the help of just a few and things would have went well. If 50 people were to show up at my local Obama office tomorrow wanting to volunteer I am not sure if they would know what to do with them all or if these people could be used effectively or efficiently. Sometimes simply throwing bodies at a problem is not the solution. It depends on the bodies.
